Tim's Birthday

About The Game

This game is a Story-Based Visual Novel that has a Point and Click Adventure aspect. It's story consists of drama, psychological, mystery, and ... horror.

Tim's Birthday uncovers the story of Anne, the protagonist and the older sister of Tim, who wakes up on the day of her brothers birthday hung over and has to slouch her way around the house and convince her little brother she wasn't doing "The Thing". As a player, you follow Anne through her attempts to make sure Tim has a great day but in the end it just only gets worse.

Warning: Please note that the game has gore scenes and may or may not be for your viewing eyes. Please be advised.

The game itself was made with Ren'Py.

For those confused players, here is my final hint:

There are 6 things that will affect Tim for the day. Speaking to certain characters will give you hints on what to do next. Clicking around at things that haven't been clickable before helps too. Realize that this game is mostly surrounded by one character. Remember to test different combinations of things and end the day to see results. There are 5 different things you'll see after ending a day. Crack the code on how it is determined... What would lead to a different ending? That's your job as a detective in this psychological mystery.. This is as much as I can tell you.
Game Version Updated to 1.1 to include bug fixes and changes such as:
  • Minor single line grammar fix.
  • Major bug fix which included certain end day phases to NOT work which made the game impossible to progress.
  • Changed it so you won't require to re-see the first "ending" to complete the game. Logically speaking you now have 4 end day phases to discover.

For those players who has completed the game and enjoyed the story behind the game, I have a short text that includes never before mentioned facts about the game and the characters. There are also some explained things.

An interesting game. It was fun finding all the endings.

Thank you so much for makin' a play through of my game! Much appreciated

Good day. I wanted to inform you that we showed impudence by making a translation of your game without your consent. My fault is my inattention, because I was sure that I already wrote to you about it. I apologize

It's perfectly fine. I'm honored that you made a translation of my very own game. I had not recognized that my game has been constantly recognized. I appreciate your confrontation for now I can see more enjoyment of my game.

Thanks. Take care.

I know I'm a bit late to comment on the game, but I just played it and found it pretty awesome! Took me a bit at first to understand the variations. But once figured out, it was a breeze and the story came together nicely. I didn't have any bug problem!! I did a Let's Play on it, SO CHECK IT OUT!

Pretty neat.

i played this game with my sister, and it was a very fun and brain-teasing experience to try and find all of the endings.  we felt this kind of tense pressure, and there were no smiles and laughs due to the tension--WE HAD TO SAVE TIM!!

we both loved all endings though.  definitely unexpected every time and we didn't know whether to be happy we unlocked a new ending or sad because of what it entailed! lol

Hey played your game and really loved it . Amazing story and chalenging game

Here´s my gameplay (1 of 3) :

Gave this a play, it was fun trying to figure out what actions would lead to each death, but I tried just about every combination, got all 5 death scenes, and couldn't get the game to progress. I even tried just resetting after getting all 5 scenes! Still fun though.

Hey sorry about that, but I'm amazed you made a video of it!

Please note you should try ending the day immediately after resetting. It may work!

Whoa whoa whoa, I finally watched your video... Turns out you completed the game, it's just... It seems you weren't able to progress. Could it be you used a different version other than Windows? I'll look in the code to see if perhaps the order you've completed them in were off.. I'm super impressed you completed the game so fast, a shame you didn't get to see the ending. I really would've liked to watched your reaction on it (You struggled those last ten minutes... rip [so sorry]), anyways... Try resetting the game and starting from the bottom up (hint hint) after skipping everything, hopefully that'll work for you.

Heh, well that's a relief! It was driving me a little crazy wondering what I could possibly be missing. I am using the Windows version, if that helps. I'll give it a try again and see if I can get to the ending. If I do I'll be sure to record and post my reaction to it.

Also, thanks for creating such an interesting game! Even if my playthrough got bugged, I still had a lot of fun experimenting and figuring things out! :)

It took a little doing, but with the help of Kymarai I got the ending, and holy carp I was not expecting that! Spoilers in the video, don't watch until you've gotten it yourself!

No way to save him?

As said before, or in other comments.. 5 different types of deaths. It's possible to save him. Just have to witness it all and the game will progress. Try ending the day after resetting. You might have seen it all expect the one you've already seen (horrible mistake, not a bug).

Wait a minute... If there are 5 different endings of a day, and I've seen all 5, and they are not very pleasing, then... Is there a way to save Tim at all?

Unfortunately due to my horrible coding skills. It is known that some players have to just end the day after resetting, that.. or do all 6 actions, to get the most common ending, one found in the story, you should be able to continue to the end story.

Yea, thanks, it worked! Great ending!
